(Cedar Rapids, IA June 14, 2018) – The Bandits tried to get in and out of Hawkeye Downs Speedway Saturday without incident, but Mother Nature had other ideas.

Severe weather, including a tornado warning, forced Bandit promoters to postpone the event until Sunday, July 29th .

"We gave it our best shot and thought the weather would cooperate, but during the first Challenge race of the evening, we had to postpone," Bandit General Manager Jason Johnson said. "The most important thing is keeping everyone safe, including the Bandits and our fans."

The results from Saturday night, which include three Heat races as well as the Bandit Shoot Out, will count in the point standings. The rescheduled date will see the Bandits pick things up starting with the first of two Challenge races.

"We'll run the two Challenge races and the A-Main Feature on the 29th , beginning at 1 p.m." Johnson said.

All tickets from this past Saturday's event will be honored on July 29th . Fans should bring their tickets or wristbands to the gate that day.

"We will always try to make it right," Johnson said. "Our fans deserve the best, so we aim to give them the best."

Next up for the Bandits is their first-ever stop in Pennsylvania. They'll be at Lake Erie Speedway in North East Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 7th .
